Rev. Raphael Warnock is the apparent winner of a close Senate election in Georgia. But read this WSJ article to discover some of the senator’s antagonistic opinions on Israel. Warnock professes himself an admirer of Rev. Jeremiah “Israel is a dirty word” Wright and of Minister Louis “Judaism is a gutter religion” Farrakhan, who added, “I’m not an anti-Semite, I’m an anti-termite.”
If a politician expressed such hostility to Blacks, Hispanics, or other minorities, he would have no chance for nomination, much less election. But anti-Jewish views are entirely acceptable in today’s Democratic Party. How sad. But how expected. The Left worldwide is anti-Israel and borderline anti-Semitic. Look an the Labour Party in the UK. So why would we be surprised that as the Democrats move leftward, they flirt with anti-Semitism, just as their brothers overseas do?
My father, who experienced anti-Semitism personally, taught me that it is like beige: it goes with everything. It goes with the far Left and the far Right, it goes with the religious and the secular, it goes with the educated and the ignorant, it goes with all races and ethnicities.
And it goes with Democrat voters. Georgia on my mind.
