Head of LA Teachers’ Union Cecily Myart-Cruz blasts plan to reopen schools as “racist.” Nation’s second largest has 600, 000 or did till it closed down a year ago. How many remain we don’t yet know. But in fact it’s the opposite: Well-off White & Asian families can afford laptops, WiFi, books, teaching materials, tutors, or private schools. Poorer Black or Hispanic families cannot, are hardest hit. Their kids are already a year behind, a year they may never be able to make up, condemning them to a lifetime of low-paying jobs. Oh wait, maybe that’s the plan.
