Do you think, just possibly, that these two items are related?

Judges issue rulings, legislators pass laws, officials establish policies – but without feedback. Do desired results occur? Do opposite results occur? Is program counter-productive? No matter. Officials blunder along without any regard for the consequences of their actions.

Ordinary citizens pay the price for officials’ arrogant ignorance. “Gun control” comes to mean preventing law-abiding citizens from defending themselves, not controlling violent criminals. Things go downhill from there.
