We have been complaining that President Biden called President Putin a “killer.” This is not quite correct. George Stephanopolis asked whether Biden would call Putin a killer, and Biden replied that he would, adding that Putin would “pay a price” for interfering in the 2020 election. This assumes, of course, that Russia actually did interfere.
Stephanopolis is an ABC commentator but was communications director in the Bill Clinton White House. What possible reason could he have for egging on the confused Biden to insult the leader of a nuclear power, a leaden known for his machismo?
Was this just a stupid error? Or is Stephanopolis still a Clinton operative? Was his purpose to push Biden into a dangerous gaffe that would hasten Biden’s removal from office via the 25th Amendment or impeachment? Did backers put up Biden as a candidate with the intention of removing him, leaving them free to do as they pleased? Is Biden too senile and unreliable even as a puppet? Were his confusion and gaffes not moving fast enough to please the puppeteers? Was a slight push in order?
We will probably never know. But we can speculate. That is still permitted, at least for the moment.
