Meddling With Young People’s Lives

2020 was the Year of the Woman Voter. From Me Too to other feminist organizations, we hear much talk about empowering women. But that’s mainly what it is – talk. So-called feminists remain oddly silent when:

  • Biologic males are allowed to compete in girls’ and women’s sports. In track, they take medals and opportunities for college scholarships away from women. In MMA, they send a woman to the hospital with a concussion and multiple facial fractures. Only a few years ago, a man who hit a woman so hard she was taken to the hospital would go to jail. Now we pay him to do it. Even worse, we pay to watch.

  • For the first time in history, 2% of teenage girls want to become boys. Often without their parents’ consent or even knowledge, they can be put on male hormones that cause irreversible changes: beard and body hair, deep voice, enlarged clitoris, atrophic breasts. Then they can undergo removal of both normal breasts. What is going on here? Social media, peer pressure, confused “experts” making unhappy girls even unhappier by telling them their girl’s body is wrong, and that they underwent the wrong puberty.

The common thread here is misogyny, but disguised as “pro-woman.” Would we be “pro-Black” if we advised Blacks how to whiten their skin? Would we be “pro-child” if we kept kids out of school for a year? (Oh wait, we did.) Would we be “pro-woman” if we advised girls that being a boy is superior and more likely to produce a happy life? No, we would not. We would be misogynists meddling with young people’s lives to satisfy our own hubris.
