How To Destroy An Army

By | April 6, 2021 | 0 Comments

Double envelopment: Military maneuver in which the enemy force is attacked on both flanks simultaneously, resulting in defeat or annihilation. Examples:

  1. Cannae, 216 BC.  Carthaginian army under Hannibal defeated and virtually destroyed a Roman army.
  2. Tannenberg, 1914. German army under von Hindenburg defeated and virtually destroyed a Russian army.
  3. America, 2021. Leftists under Biden enforce “wokeness” on the US Army by sending Gen. Austin to root out “White supremacy,” loosely defined. The fear is that this will be equated with conservative media posts or wearing a MAGA cap off duty. At the same time, pregnancy flight suits and recruitment of transgenders is put in place. How all this is compatible with a warrior spirit is not stated.

From the other flank, tens of thousands of illegal immigrants, many of them minors, are encouraged to flood over the border. As holding facilities are overwhelmed, immigrants including minors will be housed on Army bases. The first is Fort Sill, home of the Field Artillery School. How an Army post is to care for thousands of minors is not clear. How security is to be maintained with thousands of unknown persons on the post is less clear. How baby-sitters can be rapidly deployed to resume their job as soldiers is not clear at all.

Yes, double envelopment is a brilliant tactic capable of destroying a military force, the enemy’s or our own.
