Where do they get more sympathy for criminals than for victims?

Another video surfaced of Columbus, OH police shooting of knife-wielding teen. It is clear that the attacker was not deterred by an armed officer giving orders. It is also clear that she was not deterred by any religious or moral objections to murder. So the question is, then how do we deter her from stabbing two young people? How do we save the life of the teen in pink. She was pushed back into a car, could not retreat, and was in imminent danger of death or serious injury.

The attacker was not threatening the girl in pink – then she would be waving the knife in front of the girl’s face. Instead,  the attacker’s arm was outstretched, prepared to strike a strong blow with the knife. At this moment, the officer faced the choice of allowing the girl in pink to be seriously injured or killed, or shooting the attacker.

Those who condemn the officer for shooting must face the fact that they are condoning, even facilitating, murder. I am unaware of any religious or legal system, anywhere in the world, that teaches such destructive rubbish. So where do these people get their values of apathy and inaction inn the face of violent evil? Where do they get the absurd notion that defensive violence is worse than aggressive violence? Where do they get more sympathy for criminals than for victims? I don’t know, but does it matter? These are my values. Which are yours?

Those who love God must hate evil. – Psalm 97:10

You are not to stand idle when your neighbor’s life is at stake. – Leviticus 19:16

We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. – Elie Wiesel
