According to the FBI, across the United States in 2018, there were: 1,515 deaths by knives or cutting instruments, 443 people were killed with hammers/clubs/other blunt objects, 672 people were killed from fists/feet/’personal weapons’ compared to the 297 killed by any type of rifles.

That is, five times more victims were stabbed to death than killed with rifles, including “assault rifles.” So why are we preoccupied with banning “assault rifles,” while we seem unconcerned with knives – for example, the knife the teen in Columbus, OH was going to stab the other teen with, until the cop shot her?
