Turn Your Backs On Anthem, We Turn Our Backs On You

Don’t women soccer players realize that in turning their backs on a 92-year-old World War II vet playing the National Anthem, they are turning their backs on the country they claim to represent? Don’t they understand that even if some soccer fans watch their games, it will be out of interest in the sport, but the fans won’t really care who wins?

Don’t the anthem kneelers in the NFL understand that fewer fans will watch the games because they no longer care who wins? Don’t all the back-turners and anthem-kneelers realize that loyalty is like electricity? It flows up from the fans to the team, but then it must flow back down again. If not, the circuit is broken, and the lights go out.

All loyalty is like that – in personal life, in sports, and in national life. If you turn your back on them, sooner or later they’ll turn their backs on you. And then all we’ll have is games without fans, people without life partners, and nations without citizens. Without loyalty we’ll have what we deserve – nothing.
