Lying Liars Lie, But Only Some Pay Any Penalty

• Fauci (2020): Covid not spread person-to-person, didn’t come from Wuhan lab, masks not needed, travel ban from China not helpful.
• Pelosi (2021): “I’m optimistic [$700 billion bailout] will pay for itself and make money for the taxpayers.”
• FDA (2021): “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.” Don’t use ivermectin to treat Covid.
• Boeing test pilot (2020): No problem with 737 Max software.

Dr. Fauci pays no penalty for his early, grossly incorrect statements on the pandemic. His later pronouncements were received by the government and media (but I repeat myself) as if they were infallible declarations from the pope.

Speaker Pelosi will pay no penalty for her assertion that billions or trillions in printed money will not cause serious inflation, even when it does.

The FDA will pay no penalty for ridiculing a drug that a mass of data show reduces the mortality rate for Covid.

But the test pilot who helped Boeing conceal the problems with controlling the 757 Max was indicted for making false statements and will probably serve prison time. His corporate bosses will probably avoid prison. As they say, it flows downhill.

Lying liars lie, but only some pay any penalty. On the contrary, many don’t even seem to lose credibility. They are still quoted by the mainstream media as oracles of accurate information. We poor, ignorant peasants know that they have not a shred of credibility left between them. But we keep quiet about it. We don’t want to be banned from social media.

One of the Soviet dissidents – it might have been Sakharov – noted that when communist officials made a patently absurd propaganda claim, it made no difference to them whether people believed it. If people believed it, fine. But if they didn’t believe it but still parroted it out of fear, so much the better. They were compliant, helpless sheep. We’re not there yet, but we’re on our way.

Credibility is what you earn by repeatedly telling the truth. Credibility is not something conferred on you by government officials or media bosses. We used to know that.
