“White liberals seeking absolution for sins they didn’t commit, and Black liberals seeking empathy for injustices they didn’t endure.”

Critical Race Theory is predicated on the absurd, immoral notion of vicarious guilt and vicarious virtue: We are guilty for what our ancestors (or people like our ancestors) did, and we are entitled to reparations for what our ancestors (or people like our ancestors) suffered. This notion leads to an endless series of charges and counter-charges, spiced with insults and demands. The end result is splitting society into numerous hostile camps.

On the contrary, Judeo-Christian religion and Western legal tradition teach us that individual human beings are responsible for what THEY did, and are to be treated according to THEIR circumstances. Anything else leads to racism, classism, sexism, ageism, and no end of other pernicious “isms.” Calling people names rarely leads to amicable relations. Tilting the scales of justice rarely leads to justice. Riling people up rarely leads to peace. But that was probably the motive in the first place.
