You think a city, or a country, can remain free and prosperous if criminal anarchists are allowed to run free? You think civilization can exist under such conditions? Then you are delusional, and your delusions make you dangerous to yourself and others – the legal definition of insanity.

Progressives worry about Kyle Rittenhouse. The rest of us worry about the chaotic conditions that motivated him to act in the first place. He is the symptom, not the disease. No, that’s wrong. He is the attempted cure.

If we don’t act to control the anarchy, there will be more like him, but probably less restrained and less public spirited. And if that doesn’t work, a Strong Man will arise, promising to restore order. Anyone with a shred of intelligence and a rudimentary knowledge of history understands the danger. But of course this excludes our current political leaders, who have neither intelligence nor knowledge.
