Suppose that, instead of being alone, Kyle Rittenhouse was able to bring 20 or 30 like-minded people with him. The rioters would have dispersed, probably without violence. Bullies are usually cowards. A group of armed citizens would have a distinct deterrent effect on looters, arsonists, and attackers. The problem with Rittenhouse was not that he was there, but that he was there alone. The problem with the rioters is that they were there.  The problem with the police is that they were not there.
