If You Believe That, You’ll Believe Anything

Soviet dissidents noted that when the regime made a ridiculous statement, of course it wanted people to believe it. They had sold their minds. But if people knew it was baloney, and still parroted it out of fear, so much the better. They had sold their souls. We’re not there yet, but we’re on our way.

• Biden appeals court nominee says that requiring proof of citizenship is “voter suppression.” But if non-citizens can vote, then citizenship is meaningless.

• Dems open border to uncounted people and unknown material, then complain when fentanyl becomes leading cause of death for young people.

• Dems defund and demoralize police, then ask for federal aid when violent crime skyrockets.

• Chicago Mayor Lightfoot allows uncontrolled looting, then blames store owners for not providing security.

• Biden weakens military with woke-ism and vaccine firings, then threatens “serious consequences” if Russia invades Ukraine or China invades Taiwan.

• Fauci says the vaccinated can carry as much virus in nose and throat as the unvaccinated, then calls for vaccination to protect others.

Making unreasonable, contradictory statements may score poorly on the logic meter, but it only strengthens a tyrannical regime. If it can make the people believe utter garbage, it has absolute power over them. Happy New Year!
