Physician-Assisted Suicide: First Forbidden, Then Allowed, Now Mandatory?

By | May 20, 2023 | 0 Comments

Report: California forced to pay $300,000 to settle suit by doctor who refused to offer patients assisted suicide, as new law requires. What was forbidden for 2400 years since Hippocrates, was then allowed, and is now becoming mandatory.

Our moral compass isn’t broken. Bad as that would be, it leaves us to decide matters on our own. No, our moral compass was sabotaged and now points south. It requires what was, until recently, forbidden. And if you don’t follow along with the other sheep, you will be punished. Your medical or nursing license will be threatened.

How’s that for freedom in a blue state? How’s that for demolishing what little trust still remains in the medical profession? When someone in a white coat enters the room, is it a physician bound by oath to try to help you, or a cost-containment operative who wants to hurry you on your way to the next world? You can have Hippocrates, or you can have Karl Marx. But as this episode shows, you can’t have both. So choose.
