Self-proclaimed nature lovers pushed for the reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone. Wolves belong there, they said. Predictably, wolves escaped from the park and attacked cattle and sheep. Within Yellowstone, wolves do what wolves do. Here they attack a bison (buffalo) calf, but adults come to the rescue before the calf is killed.

Policies have consequences. Reintroducing wolves means that animals will be killed, especially young ones. Defunding police means that humans will be killed, especially young ones. Progressivism is a naive, even childish belief that if it feels good, it is good, and consequences are for others – the adults – to worry about.  Foreseeing consequences is what conservatives do. At least we try.
