Rep. Byron Donalds (R,FL) says DHS Secy Mayorkas is “terrible” at his job. Wrong. Donalds mistakes what the job is. He seems to believe Mayorkas’ job is to safeguard the homeland and secure the border. Wrong. His job is to open the border and admit uncertain numbers of uncertain people, including known terrorists. His job is to harass conservatives. At these jobs he is superb.

This is an example of Murphy’s Law of Success: In order to decide whether someone is succeeding or failing, you first have to decide what he is trying to do. It may be quite different from what most people think he is trying to do.
