Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt was involved in the demonstration of Jan. 6, 2001. She assaulted no one, damaged nothing, and was climbing through a door that SOMEONE ELSE had broken, when a Capitol Police lieutenant shot her in the neck. She bled out on the floor, while a doctor with a medical bag was prevented from aiding her. The doctor was later charged with a felony, while the officer who removed him, and the officer who shot Ashli, faced no charges.
.
The government just settled with her family. This doesn’t bring Ashli back, nor does it punish her killer, but it is some measure of justice.
.
Use of force expert: Ashli Babbitt was MURDERED by the officer Jan. 6 under color of authority. He should be arrested. Unarmed Air Force vet was shot in the neck, bled to death on the floor, was a threat to no one.
.
If you doubt this, try shooting to death a person who is unarmed, threatens no one, and enters through an open door, motioned in by a police officer. No tresspasser, no rioter, no vandal. See what happens to you: Years in prison for manslaughter.
