The purpose of the military is to protect our nation and its people. The method they use to do so is to kill people and break things. If they have a moral objection to this, they are in the wrong line of work.

Perhaps they could be paramedics. This is also a stressful and sometimes dangerous profession. But the aim is to save people and put things back together.

The Victoria Cross, the Commonwealth’s highest award for bravery in the face of the enemy, is made out of metal from captured Russian artillery during the Crimean War. Do you imagine that the Russians gave up their guns willingly?

The very substance that medal is made from came with a high price – on both sides. Political correctness and woke ideas can’t change that. You can redact history, but you can’t change it.
