Tel Aviv The Capital Of Israel?

A post on X, as well as many statements by anti-Semites, refers to the capital of Israel as Tel Aviv, not Jerusalem, which is in fact the capital. The subtext is that the Jews do not deserve to choose their own capital, much less to have their own homeland.

Let me tell you a story. In 1947 Pakistan, which had never existed before, was founded on land carved out of India. But no one says that Pakistan is illegitimate, or exists on stolen land.

The first capital was Karachi. The capital was then moved to Rawalpindi, and later to Islamabad, the present capital. Each time the nations obediently moved their embassies to the new capital. No one claimed that another city was the capital, or kept their embassy there.

But if Israel declares that its capital is Jerusalem, many nations and other anti-Semites maintain their embassies in Tel Aviv. If the capital is illegitimate, so is the whole country. So the 7 million Jews of Israel will go “elsewhere.”

But there is no elsewhere, any more than there was an elsewhere before World War II and the Holocaust. No one wanted the Jews then, and in all probability, no one will want them now.

Which leaves us fearing Holocaust II, The Sequel. Capital in Tel Aviv? No, it is not. Get over it.
