During the American Revolution, we simply got rid of the yoke of King George. A rich and free country developed.
During the subsequent French Revolution, they chopped off the heads of thousands of aristocrats and rich people, and confiscated their property. Did this benefit the poor? Not one iota. It merely led to the tyranny and wars of Napoleon.
No, leftists like Elizabeth Warren won’t bring back the guillotine. But taking money from the rich won’t benefit the poor. It will only appease envy, and only temporarily. We will still be left with the envious, who will still vote left. But that’s the object of the left: To get power, not to increase wealth.
