Mail Theft Rampant

Yes, theft from the US Mail is a federal crime. But who will prosecute offenders?

A substantial check to a bank credit card disappeared from the mail. It reappeared endorsed in hand printing by some guy. The Postal Service was uninterested, and the bank had to be yelled at to credit our account.

A homeless guy was seen removing letters from a US mailbox. The flap had been coated with a sticky substance, so mail stuck to it and could be stolen easily. We now post important mail at the Post Office.

One of the most visible functions of any government is to deliver the mail. When this function is visibly compromised, nothing good will come of it.
