Suppose a woman said, “I love my husband, but I want him to be taller and make more money.” Suppose a man said, “I love my wife, but I wish she were better looking and had a better job.” Would you conclude that their marriage was strong, or that they needed couples counseling?

That’s what progressives’ “love” for America is like. They don’t really love America. They hardly know America. They think it is a snake pit of racists who would reestablish slavery if they could. What they love, insofar as they can love anything, is their IDEA of a communist America where they control everything. If that is love, as Sam Goldwyn said, include me out.
