This is pure communism. At first Stalin had his political opponents shot or sent to Siberia. But this made martyrs of them. So then he had them sent to mental hospitals. This discredited them and discredited their ideas.

As baseball great Yogi Berra said, it’s déjà vu all over again. If we are looking for role models, let us choose better ones than Stalin.
