VP Kamala Harris claims that to preserve the environment and ensure clean air and water, the world population must be reduced. Exactly how this reduction is to be accomplished, and who will decide who gets reduced, is not stated. Harris is being harshly criticized, but her idea is hardly original.
“Deep ecologists” have for years advocated sharply reducing the world population. In this they resemble Nazis. Oh, we’d never say that, of course. Only conservatives can be Nazis. Progressives can only be compassionate and humane – you know, like Stalin and Mao. But many progressives agree with Harris: There will be more chocolate cake for them if there are fewer guests at the table – and how this is to be accomplished is not their problem. Now are you worried?
