Civilization isn’t a collection of artifacts in a museum, or a shelf of books in a library, or a course on the internet. Civilization is what we do, and don’t do, every day. Some people worry about whether America as we knew it can continue. They are optimists. I worry about whether Western Civilization itself can continue.

Remember when activists paraded through university campuses chanting, “Hey hey, ho ho, Western Civ has got to go”? We thought they meant the course. No, they meant Western Civ itself. The results we see around us every day. Well, don’t just stand there like the guys in the New York deli. Do something!
