Report: Biden Knew Collapse Was Imminent

A leaked transcript and audio recording of a call between President Joe Biden and then-Afghan President Ashraf Ghani about three weeks before Kabul fell showed that as the Afghan president warned of a Taliban “invasion,” Biden pressed him to change the “perception.”

…the Afghan president told Biden, “We are facing a full-scale invasion, composed of Taliban, full Pakistani planning and logistical support, and at least 10-15,000 international terrorists.”

Joe Biden’s Impeachable Phone Call Released – Joe Ordered Afghan President To Spin Situation, “Whether It Is True Or Not”

If this is true (big if) note two key points:

• Biden knew about 3 weeks before debacle that Afghanistan was likely to fall. But he told Afghan president to change the “perception,” which must mean to lie and act optimistic. Trump was impeached for a phone call to president of Ukraine, whom he asked to investigate corruption. This phone call is 1000 times worse.

• Pakistan planned and supported a full-scale invasion, including at least 10,000 international fighters.

This is an eerily exact duplicate of fall of South Vietnam in 1975. We had effectively defeated the Viet Cong, the indigenous communist rebels in South Vietnam. But in 1975, after we had indicated our unwillingness to intervene further, North Vietnam staged a full-scale invasion. As expected, we did nothing, South Vietnam fell, and people claimed the South Vietnam army just fell apart.

Now Afghanistan fell, unexpectedly rapidly, and people claim the Afghanistan army just fell apart. But could it be that this report is correct? Could it have been a full-scale invasion planned and supplied by Pakistan, with at least 10,000 foreign fighters? True, the Afghanistan army wasn’t the equal of the US Army, but perhaps it wasn’t a paper tiger, either. Perhaps, as in South Vietnam, the army was overcome by a foreign-sponsored invasion.

Surely our satellites would have seen large-scale movement of troops and supplies from Pakistan. If they saw it, tell us; it would help to explain the unfavorable outcome. On the other hand, if the satellites didn’t see troop movements, Pakistan could still have orchestrated the debacle, but the Afghanistan army still disintegrated.

The administration, the intelligence bureaucracy, and the Pentagon need to tell us the truth. But it won’t be easy – they haven’t had the practice.
