Sunday’s Los Angeles Times sometimes includes a propaganda insert called “China Watch.” Perhaps the editors want a little extra cash. Or perhaps they wish to remind us of who is really in charge.

This Sunday’s headline: “High tech keeps track of elephants.” The article refers to a herd of elephants that threatens a village. But the title reminds us that high tech can help the government keep track of more than elephants – dissidents, for example. And this is as true in America as it is in China. That’s why I continue to subscribe to this leftist “news” paper. You’d be surprised at what it can teach you if you keep your mind open.
