Psaki: It’s ‘Unfair And Absurd’ That Companies Would Raise Costs For Consumers Due To Higher Taxes |
Okay, then who does pay corporate and other business taxes?
1. Board of directors pay them out of their own pockets.
2. Taxes are deducted from dividends paid to stockholders.
3. Taxes are paid by contributions from charitable billionaires.
4. Taxes are paid by paying less to employees and charging more to customers.
I never had a course in economics or business. But I watched by four uncles who ran two clothing stores. They worked seven days a week, scrimped and saved, bought houses for their families, and put their kids through state universities. They paid their taxes reluctantly but diligently, with the money coming from what was taken from employees’ wages and added to customers’ costs. Where else could the money come from – Bigfoot?
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is not ignorant. She received a bachelor’s degree in English and sociology. But AOC would probably agree with her ideas on taxation, and AOC graduated in international relations and economics. It hardly matters what the title of the course may be, if what the professor is really teaching is leftism in various guises.
What is really “unfair and absurd” is that presumably educated people can remain abysmally ignorant of basic economics. But if this were not so, socialism would remain an unpopular side road on the highway of progress.
