Some apparently well-intentioned people say we should compromise on the Trump indictment. Yes, trying to knock out the leading GOP candidate is unfair, they admit, but we should let the legal process work itself out. This could well take a year or more, and there we are in 2024 with our leading candidate still under a cloud. That way, DA Bragg wins even if his case is eventually thrown out, or even if Trump is acquitted. The process, not the outcome, is the problem.
