Jews in Hitler’s army? Are you joking?
You may be thinking ofWW1, when there were thousands of Jews in the German army, including officers. Lieutanant Gutmann, Hitler’s immediate superior officer who got him the Iron Cross First Class, was a Jew who later had to flee the Nazis.
But WW2? To join the SS, you had to prove you had no Jewish grandparents. To be an officer, you had to prove you had no Jewish ancestors going back to 1800. “Racial purity” was mandatory. It was the reason for the whole thing, not just an appendage.
