This is not a theoretical discussion of gender identity issues in some university seminar. This is a direct question: Is it permissible, even praiseworthy, to allow minors to consent to life-altering, often disfiguring medical and surgical procedures? Or should we wait until they are at least 18? No, they can’t drink or smoke until they are 21. But at least at 18, they have a modicum of judgment.

It’s our choice. But if we don’t choose, the choice will be made for us by ideologues who favor allowing such procedures before age 18.
