Almost a year ago, Chris Rock made a  “joke” at the Oscars about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss due to alopecia. Will Smith came up on stage and slapped Rock. For this Smith was banned from the Oscars for 10 years and forced to resign from the academy. Rock received only sympathy.

I’m with Will. Disability is never a source of humor. We used to know that. Would I have preferred Smith to just call Rock out and not slap him? Yes. But what the progressive crowd wanted Smith to do – nothing – was not an option. It is refreshing to see a man defend his woman, especially if he suffers professionally for it.

Breaking news: There still are men in this country, and you had best be careful how you behave around them. Believe all you want that there are countless genders and that masculinity is toxic. But that won’t save you from a smack.
