I don’t even agree with her, but at least she and I served, unlike you and your entire family of free riders – we’ll both say whatever we want. Jerk.”

Couldn’t have said it better. Do you think, just possibly, that we can have a political argument without accusing one another of death-penalty crimes? We can have strong, even heated, disagreements. But such conversation-enders as “treasonous” will in the end choke off all debate, leaving us with the equally undesirable alternatives of silent apathy or violent action. In short, cool down the rhetoric while we still can.
