After NYC subway attack, arrest of suspect delayed because cameras were not working. Even worse: “Toward the front of the train, 3 victims were being attended to by bystanders. A uniformed police officer approached, asking passengers to call 911 because his radio was not working.”
Perhaps “diversity” does not include competence. Perhaps, when it comes to our actual physical safety – as in the police, fire service, and military – diversity should take second place to competence. Do you think, just possibly, that the 28 victims in the subway might agree?
