When I was commissioned in the Army Reserve, I took an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign & domestic. When I was commissioned in the Public Health Service, I took the same oath. Legally I was released from the oaths when I got my honorable discharges. But morally I will be bound by them till I die. Only God can absolve me, and He has not.
The oaths affect what I write and what I do. Some people take oaths seriously, dead seriously. That’s where I come from. How about you?
