Riverside County CA sheriff’s deputy Isaiah Cordero murdered by repeat offender. Offenses included kidnapping, multiple assaults with deadly weapon, and stabbing a police dog. Offender had been convicted of third strike carrying a 25 years to life sentence, but was released on bail by sympathetic judge. Offender again shot at police when cornered and was killed.

Bottom line: Both Deputy Cordero and the offender would be alive if not for the sympathetic judge. Listen to the sheriff, barely able to control his grief and anger. Then consider that sympathy is like money: If we squander it on trash, we have none left for necessities.
