The Federation of State Medical Boards, the umbrella organization of all state boards that license physicians, announces that doctors can have their licenses revoked if they spread “misinformation.” The exact definition of “misinformation” is to follow. But like some social media, the definition will probably be vague enough that doctors will self-censor anything controversial for fear of being punished.
If you believe this iron-fisted push for conformity is compatible with a free country, you’re crazy. If you believe it is compatible with the free exchange of ideas on which science depends, you’re even crazier. If you believe the attack on freedom will stop here and not grow like a cancer, you need to be committed – you’re a danger to yourself and others.
