Genocide? Of Whom?

Assume we get the “context” right. Assume the presidents of MIT and Harvard, and the former president of Penn, are satisfied that genocide of Jews is now a legitimate subject of discussion. What are the parameters? Who will be the subject of this genocide?

The world expert on this topic is clearly Hitler. I say is rather than was because his ideas are clearly alive and well, in fact thriving. According to der Führer, anyone who had one Jewish grandparent, that is who was 1/4 Jewish, went to the gas chambers and crematoria. This was regardless of the person’s religion. He might be a devout Catholic or Evangelical Lutheran. He might even be a priest. She might be a nun – or an atheist. No matter. Hitler was not focused on religion; race was his thing.

This is merely an example. We might use more lenient criteria and kill only those who were at least 1/2 Jewish. But obviously, if mass murder is the subject, we need to define who the victims will be. Surely the people from MIT would require a quantitative answer. We can’t waste cyanide gas on just anyone.
