Harvard: Hide Your Hanukkah Candles

The Chabad (Orthodox) rabbi at Harvard was told by the dean of students that he can light his Hanukkah menorah (candelabra), but to be sure to blow out the candles and put the menorah away at night, to avoid vandalism. Someday, Jews at Harvard may feel safe in displaying their religious symbols. But it will be a while.

You know, some of us have long memories. German and Austrian universities in the 1930s were also incubators of anti-Semitism. We haven’t forgotten that. We won’t forget this.
