The feds seizing control of a state’s National Guard has an honorable history. In 1957 the courts ordered Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, to accept Black students. But Gov. Orval Faubus ordered the Arkansas National Guard to block this. Faubus promised to “stand in the schoolhouse door,” directly challenging the U.S. Supreme Court.
President Eisenhower was not a man to trifle with. He federalized the Guard, put it under a general of his choosing, and sent elements of the 101st Airborne from Fort Campbell, Kentucky to assure things went his way. They did.

But just because something has an honorable history dos not mean it can’t be used for dishonorable purposes. Biden already has federal agents cutting the barbed wire Texas Gov. Abbott placed at the border. Abbott is replacing the wire. This cannot go on indefinitely. Eventually the Texas National Guard will come up against the feds.
Biden is very far from being an Eisenhower. Eisenhower commanded the entire European Theater against Hitler. Biden directed Hunter’s scams. We may be facing a constitutional crisis directed by a senile president who was none too bright when he was younger. Let us pull back before it becomes a crisis. It will not end well, and our enemies will see us as even weaker than we already are.
