A huge company has decided that all of its customers need to go to diversity training, and it’s paying them to do so. The North Face, a renowned outdoor outfitter, is providing a 20% discount to customers who successfully finish a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) course.
North Face garments used to be made in the U.S. Now they are made in China, Cambodia, Vietnam, and elsewhere. The source of their fleece lining has been questioned. A company based in China wants to educate me about diversity? That day hasn’t come yet. Treatment of the Uyghurs tells me all I need to know about Chinese communists’ notion of inclusion: Just step out of line and you’ll be included in the labor camp. Thanks so much, but if I sell my intellectual freedom, it will take more than a 20% discount on an inflated price. I’ll buy another brand of jacket. Communist synthetic fleece is no warmer than that made in freedom, even relative freedom.
What do they call it when private industry colludes with government to control you? They call it FASCISM.
