In an iconic speech at West Point, alumnus General of the Army Douglas MacArthur enunciated the West Point ideal: “Duty, Honor, Country.” When Dennis Prager stated that the Left destroys everything it touches, I thought this was hyperbole. It wasn’t.
Those three words have been replaced by “Army values,” which are both vague and changeable. Ideals that are vague and changeable are precisely what we do not need. If a young person I knew wanted to go to West Point, I would no longer offer encouragement. I would consider VMI, the Citadel, Texas A & M, and Norwich – unless they too become subverted.
You want to kill a snake? Cut off the head. You want to kill a nation? Cut out the heart. Note the Bible in the soldier’s hand. With woke leaders, he’s going to need it.
