Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas testified under oath before Congress that the border is “secure.” We thought he was lying, but we misunderstood. What he meant was that the border is securely under the control of the cartels. It looks like chaos to us, but to them it looks like increased profits from trafficking drugs and people. It all depends on your point of view. It all depends on whom you are working for: DHS or Sinaloa.
Take El Paso for example. Thousands of illegal migrants broke a hole in the fence, pushed through the Border Patrol while knocking some to the ground, and were finally stopped by elements of the Texas National Guard holding (but not firing) rifles. If it were not for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, there would be no National Guard, the US Border Patrol would be overrun, the border would be only a memory, and leftists would be even happier than they already are.
A country without a border is not a country, but merely an undefined area where an undefined group of unidentified individuals happen to be for the moment. Call it what you like, but it’s not a country. Used to be, though.
