Wait, what? If the most private aspects of personal life are now the subject of political speeches, can we at least get the facts right? If we are going to blab the most intimate details of family life, can we at least know what we are talking about? If a man may be one heartbeat from the nuclear codes, can he at least know what is going on in his own bedroom? If a politician claims to promote unity, can he at least agree with his own wife? Is this too much to ask?

Or, to put it another way, I’m going to stop asking, “How incompetent can you get?” Some people are taking it as a challenge. But maybe Tim Walz is better at grilling steaks. He didn’t prevent Minneapolis from being burned down in the George Floyd riots, but maybe he won’t burn the meat.
