Pope Francis calls “repelling” migrants a “grave sin.” He called Trump’s proposed wall on our southern border “not Christian.” Then what is the actual 39-foot wall around the Vatican? Things get confusing if we look too closely. Or even if we look at all.

No one is 100 percent consistent. That would be boring. But at some point, inconsistency reaches a level that invites the charge of hypocrisy.
