Human Rights Campaign president Kelley Robinson urged people to “reimagine” freedom and democracy beyond the Founders’ “little piece of paper” at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) last week.
No, this wasn’t Kamala, but it was her ally, and she spoke for many other leftists. There are serious problems here:
• How do you presume to speak for citizens of a country you despise? If you despise the Constitution they revere, in a very real sense you despise them.
• You aspire to lead a country based on that “little piece of paper.” You take your oath of office to support and defend that “little piece of paper.”
• All federal office holders, from the president to the lowliest employee, serve under the authority of that “little piece of paper.” If it is obsolete, they have no power and deserve no obedience. Their grant of authority is null and void, by their own admission. They hit the Delete button. They undermined their own position. What destructive fools! But fortunately, also self-destructive.
