There is an old Russian saying about stink eye, when someone glares at another with unconcealed hostility: “Like the Devil looks at the Pope.” Here is an example. Former chairman of the joint chiefs, Gen. Mark Milley, glares at his commander-in-chief, former President Trump:

Among his other disloyal, seditious, mutinous actions, Milley met with former Speaker Pelosi about how to disobey Trump’s orders, and Milley went so far as to order his subordinates to check with him before obeying Trump.

Then he went even further. Reportedly, Milley informed his Chinese counterpart that if Trump ordered military action against China, Milley would inform his Chinese friend beforehand. This is textbook sedition, if not treason. The penalty for either one in wartime is death, and in peacetime up to life in prison. It is difficult to enjoy a generous pension and lucrative commercial deals in Leavenworth.

You want a real threat to democracy? Forget about Trump. How about generals who disobey their Constitutional civilian superiors? Now that is really frightening. So why aren’t Democrats frightened? Because they hope to take advantage of this disgraceful situation?
