Question: Is there any connection between 1) and 2)?

What if the New Orleans terrorist attended an ISIS camp, or was in direct contact with an ISIS member? What if the terrorist was not in direct contact, but spent hours on ISIS websites?

That is, what if the terrorist did not spontaneously dream up the idea of murdering as many Americans as possible at New Years celebrations? What if, as appears likely, he had help, a lot of help? What if, as appears certain, that President Trump may have ideas about what to do about this problem?

Think drones, that can fly into the head terrorist’s bedroom window. Think armed drones. Think air-fuel bombs, that can create the biggest non-nuclear explosions in history. Think bunker-buster bombs, that can penetrate deep tunnels. Think cyber attacks, that can put pornographic and blasphemous material on terrorist websites, thus destroying their credibility. Think what a strong, angry person can do. Think what a strong, angry nation can do.
