Country singer Carrie Underwood was scheduled to sing “America The Beautiful” at President Trump’s inauguration. She was to be accompanied by a chorus. But as she stood there, there was a glitch and no accompaniment was heard. She whispered to someone that she could perform a cappella. Then she said into the microphone:

“If You Know The Words, Help Me Out Here.”

She proceeded to do a beautiful rendition of this moving song that might have become our national anthem, with the crowd joining in.

Yes, Carrie, we do know the words. And we are proud to give you all the help we can, not that you need it. The same goes for President Trump. We know the words quite well. Better still, we know their meaning. And we are quite prepared to give all the help we are able, come what may.
